We offer at-home sourdough classes. We’re so glad to have you join us! This page is meant to provide information you can refer to before, during, and after class.

You need at home
  1. a proofing basket

    • aka a banneton basket

  2. ⁠something to bake in

    • Typical option: a Dutch oven

    • Alternative: a shallow baking pan + deep baking pan

  3. ⁠a kitchen scale

  4. bread flour

  5. whole wheat flour

  6. salt

  7. ⁠optional: a scoring lame

  8. ⁠optional: parchment paper

Class Overview

Get ready to learn and also to likely fail a little at first! But also be confident knowing you’ll never make a bad loaf. Homemade is always better than not made.

Classes are available in classic sourdough and gluten-free sourdough. Class is $100 per participant.

During class you’ll learn:

  • How to bake and score a classic sourdough loaf

  • How to bake a focaccia

  • How to prep dough for your loaf

  • How to take care of your starter

  • How to shape your dough for its second proofing

  • How to add inclusions into your loaf

During class you receive:

  • sourdough starter

  • spatula

  • ⁠bowl

  • ⁠flour towel

  • ⁠bench scraper

  • ⁠one baked mini-loaf

  • ⁠enough dough for a loaf to be baked at home

  • An invitation to our WhatsApp Community to continue learning and connecting with other lazy bakers
